Zaanse Schans( opening time all days 9:00am - 5 pm) is home to 6 windmills with great names such as The Cat (De kat), The Spotted Hen (De bonte hen) and The Cloverleaf (Het klaverblad).

Two ways to go -
1 Take a short train ride to Koog-Zaandijk and from there a fifteen minutes walk will take you to Zaanse Schans. It is an eighteen minutes train ride from Amsterdam Central Station to Koog-Zaandijk
2 direct train from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans (Amsterdam and Zaandijk Zaanse Schans in 17 minutes,€3.70 each way) which is included with an iAmsterdam card.
Visit any 1 mill ( price 5 euro), you can go the deck and get a better view from above
